Axtra3D to Showcase Production-Ready Additive Manufacturing Platform at IMTS 2026

Axtra3D Showcases Lumia.X1 and an Integrated Production Workflow at IMTS 2026

September 14, 2026, Charlotte, NC – Axtra3D, Inc., an emerging leader in additive manufacturing technology and production solutions, will showcase its latest advancements in production-ready photopolymerization at IMTS 2026 in Chicago this month. The International Manufacturing Technology Show brings together the global manufacturing community to explore technologies shaping the future of production.

At IMTS 2026, Axtra3D will demonstrate how additive manufacturing is moving beyond prototyping and into repeatable, economically viable production. At the center of the exhibit will be the company’s flagship Lumia.X1 3D printer, powered by its proprietary Hi-Speed SLA technology.

The Lumia.X1 combines the throughput advantages of DLP with the surface quality and dimensional precision associated with traditional laser based stereolithography. The system delivers surface finishes approaching traditional manufacturing processes, with detail resolution down to 45 microns. This combination enables manufacturers to consider photopolymerization for applications where speed, precision, part quality, and production economics must work together.

“IMTS is an important milestone for Axtra3D because it reflects how far the company and the market have moved in two years,” said Rajeev Kulkarni, Chief Strategy Officer at Axtra3D. “The conversation around additive manufacturing is increasingly moving from what can be printed to where it makes economic and operational sense to manufacture with it. That is the shift we are focused on. Our goal is to help manufacturers move qualified applications into repeatable production, with the equipment, materials, software, and post-processing working as one production system. We are excited to bring that approach to IMTS and demonstrate what production-grade photopolymerization can deliver at scale.”

In addition to the Lumia.X1, Axtra3D will introduce visitors to the Axtra.Workflow, the company’s end-to-end production ecosystem designed to connect printing, washing, curing, process control, and part validation into a coordinated manufacturing workflow.

The ecosystem includes the newly introduced Axtra.Wash and Axtra.Cure post-processing systems, which are designed to operate synchronously with the Lumia.X1. Customers can now order the complete production system, creating a controlled workflow from digital build preparation through finished part production.

By connecting the major steps of the manufacturing process, Axtra.Workflow is designed to improve process consistency and provide greater control over part quality and repeatability. This becomes increasingly important as manufacturers transition additive manufacturing from individual machines and isolated applications into qualified production processes.

The Axtra3D booth will also feature an extensive collection of production parts across multiple industries. Visitors will be able to examine and handle parts produced with minimal or no traditional tooling, including components manufactured directly from the Lumia.X1 and processed through the Axtra.Workflow.

Applications on display will span aerospace, medical, industrial, and other manufacturing markets, including end-use components and specialized tooling applications. The parts demonstrate how high-speed photopolymerization can address production requirements where conventional manufacturing methods can introduce significant tooling, lead-time, or design constraints.

“Manufacturers are asking a more important question today,” Kulkarni added. “They are not simply asking whether a part can be 3D printed. They are asking whether additive manufacturing can become the better production process for that part. That requires much more than printer speed. It requires repeatability, material performance, post-processing, workflow control, and economics to come together. That is the opportunity we are addressing with Lumia.X1 and Axtra.Workflow.”

Stop by and see in person what Axtra3D is bringing to IMTS by paying them a visit in the South Building at Booth 338374, from September 14th-19th.

About Axtra3D

Based in the US and Italy, Axtra3D is a global company specializing in Hi-Speed SLA systems that eliminates tradeoffs between print throughput, accuracy, feature resolution, and surface finish typically found in traditional SLA or DLP systems.

The flagship LumiaX1 Hi-Speed SLA system by Axtra3D represents a significant advancement, combining its Hybrid PhotoSynthesis resin polymerization process with TruLayer, a layer separation technology. HPS utilizes both a laser and a DLP to image simultaneously, while TruLayer enables rapid detachment of the active print layer, resulting in a 20X throughput improvement while preserving the accuracy and fidelity of SLA parts.

Axtra3D operates with two business models.

Axtra Solutions™: This model provides fully optimized, turnkey 3D printing solutions. Customers receive complete print profiles fine-tuned for maximum performance and reliability, supported by Axtra3D’s Applications team and quality material partners.

Axtra OpenAccess™: This model further builds on Axtra Solutions™ and allows customers the flexibility to experiment with new materials and applications. It supports innovation and adaptability, enabling added flexibility.
